Fall Is Trail Ride Season: Find Trail Rides Near You

There’s something about the first cool days of fall that makes you want to saddle up and go somewhere.

The heat starts to break, the leaves begin to change, and suddenly spending a few hours—or an entire weekend—on horseback sounds a whole lot better than it did in the middle of July.

Fall is one of the best times of year to get together with friends, load up the horses and hit the trail. It’s a chance to slow down, enjoy the outdoors and see some beautiful country from the best seat there is—the back of a horse.

Get Those Rides In Before the Holidays

We all know how quickly fall disappears.

Before long, Thanksgiving and Christmas are here, calendars fill up, daylight gets shorter, and finding a free weekend becomes a challenge.

So take advantage of these cooler days while you can.

Maybe it’s an organized trail ride you’ve been wanting to attend. Maybe it’s a weekend camping with horses. Or maybe you just load up with a couple of friends and head to one of the parks or riding trails in your area.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes a good horse, good friends and a few hours away from everything else are exactly what you need.

Looking for Trail Rides Near You?

There are organized trail rides happening all over the country this fall—from local club rides and benefit rides to weekend campouts and larger organized events.

The problem has always been finding out about them.

A flyer gets posted on Facebook. Someone shares it in a group. A friend hears about it from somebody else. And sometimes you don't find out about a great ride until you see everyone posting pictures after it's over.

You can't go to an event you don't know about.

That's exactly why trail rides have a place on The Showbill.

Search by location, distance, date and event type to find trail rides and other equine events happening near you—or search an area you're planning to visit.

Organizing a Trail Ride? Put It on The Showbill

If your saddle club, riding club, park, campground or organization has a trail ride coming up, list it on The Showbill.

Give riders the date, location and details they need to make plans. Add your flyer and photos, map the location, and put your ride in front of horse people who are actually looking for somewhere to go.

And right now, standard event listings are FREE through December 31, 2026.

Fall won't last forever.

Grab your friends. Load the horses. Find a trail. And go make the most of it.
